The price for a project is normally calculated from the number of words in the source text. In the case of non-editable file formats (such as scanned PDFs), the price is based on the target word count. Some services, such as cross-cultural consultancy, are charged on an hourly basis. Transcription may also be charged per minute of the recorded text.

The word rate is project-specific as it enormously depends on the nature of every particular text. A list of isolated terms means significantly more work than a continuous text written in full sentences with recurrent terminology. Highly specialized texts requiring lots of terminology research are more time-consuming than general texts. A source text with typing and grammar errors in every other sentence is harder to understand and translate than a carefully worded source text. Handling scanned texts in the PDF format is more difficult than working with plain-text MS Word files.

We can give you a customized quote only after we have seen your files, or at least a representative sample of your texts, and after we have been informed of any special requirements. Our quote then applies only to the documents in question. However, the price, or pricing method, is always agreed upon before the final placement of order. Every project, small or large, involves certain administrative work. Therefore, the minimum volume charged is 300 words. If an hourly rate is used, the minimum time charged is one hour.

Our standard quote and invoice currencies are EUR, USD, NZD and CZK, depending on your location or preferred payment method.

If you are (planning to become) a regular client, multiple projects completed during a certain period of time (up to one month) can be summed up in one invoice and paid at once.

Payments are due on one of our accounts within 7 days after the invoice date.

We accept payments via bank transfer (we maintain bank accounts in the Eurozone, the United States, New Zealand and the Czech Republic), via Moneybookers or via PayPal. Upon request, we also accept credit and debit cards: VISA, MasterCard and American Express (using Moneybookers or PayPal) as well as Diners Club and JCB (using Moneybookers). Please inform us of your preferred payment method in advance.

Our firm is a payer of VAT in the Czech Republic. Our bank/Moneybookers/PayPal account details will be stated on our invoices or provided upon request.
